Good morning!

Thank you so much for visiting my blog today. Special thanks to Mary Fish for selecting me as today's guest designer on her blog. This project was inspired by my soon to be 100 year old grandmother. She is an amazing woman who has been my compass in this world and to whom I owe everything I am. I gathered some of my favorite photos of her and created this display tray.
I   used the All is Calm DSP for the background in each space as I wanted a vintage look for this project. I cut out Gray and Lost Lagoon pieces, inked the edges with coordinating ink and glued each piece in. I then matted each photo with Whisper White and Black card stock and glued those in place. In the first photo, my grandmother, Amanda, was just fourteen years old. In the second photo, my grandparents are celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary. In the large photograph, my grandmother was in her early thirties and already had eight children. In the photograph that follows she was in her mid to late thirties. In the next photo she was in her early 40s. In the last photo my grandmother was in her late 70s.
Now the fun part! Embellishments! As you can see, I used stamped images, ribbon, brads, thinlits dies, and rhinestones to decorate my project.
My grandmother has been a presence in my life for as long as I can remember. My grandparents came to the United States after losing everything in the war that tore my country apart. Following my
grandfather's sudden death, she found herself alone at the age of 62 in a foreign country with three little girls, my to sisters and I, ages 7, 8, and 10. In spite of that, my grandmother managed to raise three professionals. She is my inspiration, my friend, my confidant, and this is my tribute to an incredible woman who has led an amazing life, my grandmother.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a great day!

Hello Angie: I'm hooping to your blog from Mary's to tell you that you made a truly gorgeous tribute to your grandma.
My grandma, on my mother's side, was also a wonderful, loving, sweet woman who was always there for all of us kids as I was growing up. She tought me to cook, knit, crochet and to always help others.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful tribute to your dear grandma.
